|Francesca Dotto and her sister Catertina were integral in Italy's win|
Italy beat Hungary 55-36 to advance to join Group C opponents France and Russia in U20 European Championship Women Second Round.
The Dotto twins led Italy in victory, with Caterina scoring 13 points and grabbing six rebounds, while Francesca had 12 points and seven rebounds. Formica also finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
This loss for Hungary means they will be fighting for survival in Division A for next season.
After scores were tied at 25 at halftime, Italy made a crucial run at the start of the third quarter. Caterina Dotto scored seven points, including a three-ponter to cap a 14-2 run for a 39-27 lead, and Hungary never came closer than seven points the rest of the way.
The difference-maker was the turnover margin, as Italy won that battle 17-7. Italy were also finding their range from downtown, nailing six triples in 16 attempts, whilst Hungary went 0-for-9.
Amadea Szamosi was the only scorer in double figures for Hungary with 11.
