GAME REPORT

Serbia Sees Off Ukraine

4. Natasa Kovacevic (Serbia)
Natasa Kovacevic once more took the reigns for Serbia, scoring a game-high 21 points

Serbia never trailed to see off Ukraine 73-61 and claim a place in the Second Round of the U20 European Championship Women where they will face Spain, Slovak Republic and Greece.

Meanwhile, Ukraine have suffered their third loss and will be fighting to remain in Division A.

It did not take long for the Serbs to pull away and build a 32-15 lead late in the second quarter. A 10-2 run right after the half helped them go up 50-26, giving them full control of the game, and it also presented coach Radenko Varagic with a chance to rest his starters.

In victory, Serbia won the turnover battle 22-15, and used their 20 assists to get many open looks and easy baskets in the paint.

Natasa Kovacevic once again led Serbia with 21 points plus eight rebounds, while Aleksandra Stanacev scored 20 points and dished out eight assists. On the losing side, Miriam Uro-Nile netted 22 points, while Oleksandra Chek had 21 points and 10 rebounds.
