Quotes Tartu Rock vs. Khimik

27 November 2012
Khimik player Vitaliy Kovalenko
"First, congratulations to Tartu for the victory. In the second half our defense did not work, we missed a lot of shots and free-throws as well. It was a game for life or death in the group and it seems that they wanted it more."

Khimik head coach Zoran Martic

"We lost the game in the end of the first half and during the first few minutes of the second. In the first half our defense and offence were working quite good, but somehow we didn't manage to get a bigger advantage. During the second half they neutralised our game and afterwards it was a totally different game - they became more confident and made tough shots and we just couldn't get back. They are a very good shooting team and forced us to change our defence and afterwards they had more space inside the paint."

Tartu Rock player Timo Eichfuss
"They concentrated more on our guards, we tried to play more inside and it worked. We have won two games at home and it's a pity that we couldn't win the first two. But now we have to concentrate on our next games."

Tartu Rock head coach Gert Kullamäe
"We took the same approach to Khimik as we did for our first game and it worked. We took some risks and they paid off. First half they shot well, but during the second half we managed to get our defense working better. The substitutions we made during the first half might be the reason why we gave away the initiative, but it allowed some rest minutes for the starting five and it paid off during the second half. Our team plays in a rhythm that all twelve men are necessary for the team and know their role on the court and feel part of the team."
