Donald Sims and BK Ventspils are safely through to the Last 16

BK Ventspils booked their place in the last 16 of the EuroChallenge as a big fourth quarter powered them to a 69-51 win over the Norrkoping Dolphins.

The Latvians began to edge ahead in the third quarter but ultimately romped to victory as they outscored the hosts 21-8 down the stretch.

The third quarter ended with Keith Gabriel hitting a three-pointer for the Dolphins to cut the Ventspils lead to 48-43 but there was no containing the visitors in the final 10 minutes.

Sandis Valters and Folarin Campbell did the damage, with eight and five points respecitively in a 13-2 run that sent them 61-45 clear with 4:09 to go.

The Dolphins had looked dangerous in the early going, taking a 20-12 lead on Martin Ringstrom's three-pointer early in the second quarter, but Ventspils answered with an 11-0 run that turned the game on its head.

Valters finished with 15 points while Donald Sims had 13 for Ventspils.

Oladapo Ayuba's 10 points led the Dolphins.
