Karsiyaka Run Away From Antwerp

Pinar Karsiyaka won for the second time in a row in the EuroChallenge Last 16 with a 70-51 victory over Antwerp Giants.

Mire Chatman turned in another dazzling performance with 22 points as the Turks won at home and moved closer to another appearance in the Quarter-Finals.

Karsiyaka, who also got 14 points and seven rebounds from Jovo Stanojevic, went in front to stay in the Group L game early in the second quarter.

The contest was tied at 17-17 when Stanojevic went in for a Karsiyaka lay-up.

Engin Bayav, given an assist on that basket, next hit a jumper for Karsiyaka before teammate Birkan Batuk knocked down a three-pointer.

Stanojevic capped the run with a three-pointer play for a 27-17 advantage.

Antwerp scored the next two baskets but they trailed the rest of the way.

Eddy Casteels' side went to half-time down by six points and trailed 52-43 at the end of the third quarter.

Antwerp scored just four points for the first eight and half minutes of the last quarter.

The Giants missed all 12 of their shots from long range and sank just 24 of 55 attempts from inside the arc.

They were three of 12 at the line.

In a sloppy game, Karsiyaka won despite turning the ball over 21 times.
