Elan Chalon took a long time to warm up but once they did, there was no stopping them.
Coming off last week's narrow defeat at Telekom Baskets in Germany, Chalon outscored Okapi Aalstar 31-13 in the fourth quarter on Tuesday night and won the EuroChallenge Last 16 Group J clash, 87-72.
Chalon improved to 2-1 with the victory.
One of the top marksman in the competition, Ilian Evtimov, drilled four of six shots from the arc for Chalon and finished with 18 points.
All four of his three-pointers came in the fourth quarter, including one that put the French team in front to stay at 61-59.
Evtimov has now made 32 of 62 (51.6%) shots from long range in the competition this season.
He has buried 11 of his last 13 attempts, including his perfect seven of seven night at Telekom Baskets that did not net his team a win.
Christopher Young had 20 points and 13 rebound for Okapi, who are now 1-2.
Okapi Aalstar Head Coach Bradley Dean
"We are very frustrated because we did our job, but they played very hard and strong during the second half and they did a good job."
Elan Chalon Head Coach Greg Beugnot
"We had no intensity at the beginning, it is a problem since the December holidays, no reactivity and the other team developed its game. We won tonight and it is the best."
Okapi Aalstar player Christopher Young
"We know Chalon is a good team and very good at home, so we had to play good basketball. We play next week in Bonn and we need to win to stay in the competition. I don't know if Copeland played if it would change the game."
Elan Chalon player Jordan Aboudou
"We had no rhythm at the beginning of the game, I don't know how to explain this, but we came back. The coach had to boost our confidence at halftime, he knows we are a team with a lot of pride."
