Germany joined the EuroBasket Final Round party after beating Bulgaria on Wednesday night.
Svetislav Pesic's team prevailed 79-69 to stay unbeaten in the Qualification Round.
Tibor Pleiß had one of his finest performances in a Germany shirt, pouring in 16 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.
Heiko Schaffartzik also had 16 points as the Germans swept Bulgaria in their two meetings.
The visitors did mount a stirring comeback to test the Germans' resolve.
Down 67-55 early in the fourth quarter, the Bulgarians knotted the contest at 67-67 on a three-pointer from Ivan Lilov.
Pleiß and Karsten Tadda answered with baskets for the hosts.
After Chavdar Kostov reduced the arrears to two again for Bulgaria, Schaffartzik replied with one of his two three-pointers for Germany.
The hosts pulled away for a comfortable win over the last three minutes.
Bulgaria fell to 3-4 with the defeat.
"It is very important for a coach to be motivated. I am very motivated by the energy and enthusiasm of my players. And this is why my job makes sense to me. We have reached our first goal but many more are yet to come. We still have things to work on."
Germany player Maik Zirbes:
"I am very happy that I was able to contribute to the win today. I know that I have to keep on working, in every practice, in every ball possession."
Bulgaria head coach Rosen Barchovski:
"Congratulations to Germany, especially to Coach Pesic. We showed good basketball today and in the end the game was close. In the end, Germany underlined its physical strength and secured the win. We have to beat Luxemburg now to reach the third place and hope for qualification then."
Bulgaria player Cedric Simmons:
"Our transition defense was the reason for the loss today. Also, we missed too many open shots. But Germany defended very well. Now we focus on the Luxemburg game and after that it is not in our hands but we still hope to qualify."
