|Anna Petrakova beat the buzzer to give Dynamo Kursk a one-point lead in their series with Ruzomberok|
Anna Petrakova nailed a last-gasp three-pointer to earn Dynamo Kursk a slim mathematical victory and potentially huge psychological one as they edged out MBK Ruzomberok 81-80 in the first leg of their EuroCup Women quarter-final.
In a tense finish in Ruzomberok, Petrakova came through in the final second to give the visitors their first and only lead of the second half, having erased a double-digit deficit from the third quarter.
The hosts had been looking comfortable when Carmen Guzman split a pair of free throws to put them 62-51 ahead with 2:40 to go in the third period.
But Dynamo kept chipping away, finally drawing level when Temeka Johnson's jump-shot made it 74-74 with 2:05 to go in the game.
Katarina Tetemondova and Lucia Laskova twice restored the hosts' lead, but Johnson replied both times to level it up.
Laskova put MBK up 80-78 with a jumper 17 seconds from time, but after a Dynamo time-out, Petrakova nailed the winning shot at the death.
Petrakova finished with 19 points while Johnson led Dynamo with 22 and Snow had 16.
Tetemondova and Guzman had 22 each in defeat for MBK.
The return leg is in Kursk on February 8.
