Kayseri Survive Hainaut Scare

Hainaut Basket threw their best shot at Kayseri Kaskispor on Wednesday night but lost the battle to reach the EuroCup Women Semi-Finals.

The French club led by nine points in the second half of the second leg to pull level on aggregate, but ended up finishing the game with a 59-59 tie.

Over the two legs, Kayseri won by a combined score of 127-118.

Anna De Forge's jump shot with 6:37 to play in the third quarter put Kayseri on top 43-34 in France.

But Hainaut outscored the visitors 19-4 the rest of the frame for a 53-47 lead.

Veteran power forward Amisha Carter had nine of her 19 points in that spurt for the hosts.

Hainaut kept their noses in front for the entire fourth quarter until Latoya Sanders tied the second leg at 59-59 with two free throws in the final minute.

Sanders had 15 points and game highs in rebounds (19) and blocks (five) for Kayseri.

Veteran Croatian center Petra Stampalija signed off from the competition with 12 points and 12 rebounds for Hainaut.
