Kayseri Kaskispor outscored Hainaut Basket 24-12 in the fourth quarter and won the first leg of their EuroCup Women Quarter-Final tie on Thursday evening, 68-59.
The veteran center of Kayseri, 35-year-old Nakia Sanford, had 19 points and 16 rebounds.
The visitors from France, winners of seven of their previous eight games in the competition, had an 11-point lead midway through the second quarter.
Instead of pressing home the advantage, Hainaut allowed Kayseri to force their way back into the contest.
The hosts chipped away at the deficit and at last went in front when Anna De Forge hit a three-pointer with 4:53 remaining.
That was the seventh consecutive point scored by the hosts, and Doneeka Hodges followed with a shot from long range to stretch the advantage to 60-55.
Hodges then capped the run with a pair of free-throws, but lay-ups by Sanford and De Forge finished the scoring and gave the home side a nine-point triumph.
The game was supposed to have started earlier in the day but bad weather across Europe, which led to the cancellation of hundreds of flights, delayed the French team's arrival.
