Szolnoki Olaj handed Artland Dragons their first defeat in the EuroChallenge and boosted their own prospects of reaching the Last 16.
The German club had won four games in a row in Group H but fell, 90-85.
Szolnoki Olaj improved to 3-2 with the triumph and will travel to Cyprus next week needing to prevail against Keravnos (2-3) to progress.
The Dragons, who went unbeaten in the month of November in Europe and Germany's BEKO BBL, moved in front on Tuesday at 85-84 with 1:27 to play on a lay-up by David Holston.
The hosts' Akos Horvath answered with a jumper and Hristo Nikolov increased the advantage to three after intercepting a pass by Artland's Anthony King and going in for a lay-up.
Coming out of a Dragons timeout, Johannes Strasser launched a shot from the arc for the visitors but missed and Julien Mills rebounded for Szolnoki Olaj.
Artland fouled the shooting guard and he made both attempts for the five-point triumph.
Obie Trotter finished with 20 points, four assists and six rebounds for the winners, although he turned the ball over five times.
Horvath hit four of six shots from long range and scored 18 points.
Both sides shot well from long range, in fact, with the hosts nailing 11 of 27 (40.7%) and Artland burying nine of 19 (47.4%).
Nathan Peavy scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds in defeat.
The 2.03m forward put on an exhibition from long range like Horvath, drilling four of five attempts.
