GAME REPORT  | Teddy Gipson's 20 points sparked Pau Lacq Orthez to their first win this season
|
Pau Lacq Orthez finally won a game in the EuroChallenge on Tuesday night with a 70-67 triumph at Keravnos in Cyprus. With no chance of progressing from Group H, the French club hit the road determined to clinch their first victory in the competition and did with Teddy Gipson's 20 points a game-high. The contest was knotted at 65-65 when Gipson made a jumper with 1:13 remaining. After Pavels Veselovs missed two potential game-tying free-throws, Orthez's Allan Ray iced the victory with two at the charity strip in the waning seconds. Keravnos, who went into this week's play with a 2-2 record and battling Szolnoki Olaj for the second place that will ensure qualification for the Last 16, still have a chance of advancing. Panagiotis Yiannaras' team will host the Hungarians next week. Keravnos won the first encounter at Szolnoki Olaj on November 22, 93-81. |
