Jahmar Young took center stage yet again for BK Ventspils on Tuesday night as the Latvian club scraped a 77-75 victory over BC NN.
The visitors from Russia led 75-73 when Young caught a pass from Steven Gray and stroked a three-pointer just nine seconds from the end.
BC NN got the ball to Ivan Paunic and the Serbia international launched a shot from the arc with four seconds to play but missed, and Young sank one of two free-throws at the end for the two-point win.
The Russian team trailed 45-34 late in the first half after being outscored 25-14 in the second quarter but battled back and went in front 59-57 when Ernest Bremer hit a three-pointer at the end of the third.
They went in front by as many as five points in the fourth but could hold on.
Young, who just turned 25, finished with 19 points. He scored 23 in last week's win over Atomerömü SE and is averaging 18.8 in Europe this season.
Gray also had 19 points for Ventspils, who improved to 2-1 with the victory.
Michal Ignerski scored a game-high 20 and also grabbed 16 rebounds in defeat for BC NN.
