|Ersin Dagli claimed an impressive double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds as Besiktas stayed perfect in the EuroChallenge|
Besiktas Milangaz didn't have Deron Williams in uniform but he looked on as a supporter and watched as his Turkish club beat ZZ Leiden on Tuesday night to remain undefeated in the EuroChallenge and clinch a spot in the Last 16.
One week removed from his 50-point performance in a Group A victory over BG Göttingen, Williams made what is expected to be his final appearance at Besiktas as a spectator and saw the team overcome Leiden, 76-69.
Ersin Dagli had 20 points and 14 rebounds for Besiktas, who trailed 55-53 going into the last frame.
A pair of Fikret Akin free-throws knotted the game and Dagli followed with a three-point play after being fouled while making a jump shot.
Besiktas went on to outscore Leiden 23-14 in the last frame.
Akin scored 15 points and David Hawkins added 14 along with eight rebounds.
Marcelus Kemp also had a good all-round game with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Thomas Jackson's 17 points paced Leiden, who fell to 1-3 with the defeat.
Besiktas fans are likely to be buzzing about Williams for the rest of the season.
The Team USA guard, an Olympic gold-medal winner in Beijing, brought unprecedented attention to the team last week.
Williams had signed with the Istanbul club during the NBA lockout but with the labor dispute expected to officially come to an end this week in America, the New Jersey guard did not play as he gets ready to return to his Nets team across the Atlantic.
