Deron Williams led all scorers with 20 points and was 4-for-6 from behind the three-point arc

Besiktas Milangaz trailed early but turned on the afterburners in the second quarter and stormed to victory at ZZ Leiden.

Led by Deron Williams's 20 points, Besiktas won their EuroChallenge Regular Season opener, 86-58.

Turkey national team center Semih Erden played in the Group B encounter and had 10 rebounds to go with his seven points for the winners.

Leiden were giving their fans a lot to cheer about in the first quarter after opening up a 21-16 lead.

Jevohn Shepherd had 11 points for Leiden at that stage of the game.

Besiktas went in front, only for Leiden to come back.

The game was knotted at 25-25 with 6:45 to go in the first half.

That's when the Turkish team shifted into a higher gear, outscoring the hosts 19-4 the remainder of the second quarter for a 44-29 lead at the break.

When Fikret Akin started the second half with a three-point play, Besiktas had a 47-29 lead.

The Besiktas lead never dropped into single digits the remainder of the game.

Ersin Dagli scored 18 points and Marcelus Kemp 16 for Besiktas, who lost to Dexia Mons-Hainaut in the Eurocup Qualifying Round.

The Turkish club hit nine of 22 shots from long range while Leiden made only three of 20.

Shepherd's 15 points led the Dutch club in scoring.
