|Mouhamed Sene had 22 points for Fuenlabrada in a landslide win over Norrköping Dolphins|
Fuenlabrada ran wild at Norrköping Dolphins in Sweden on Tuesday night and posted a 119-79 victory.
The Spanish outfit dominated in clinching its third straight victory in EuroChallenge Group A.
The team's 23-year-old center Javier Vega had 25 points and Mouhamed Sene 22.
New Zealander Kirk Penney also poured in 20 points, including seven in a row that removed any doubt about the winners of the contest.
Fuenlabrada had a 10-point lead midway through the second quarter when Penney blew the game wide open.
The veteran hit a jumper, a three-pointer and a lay-up to make it 50-33 in favor of the visiting side.
The lead ballooned to 57-37 after a dunk by Adrian Laso and a hook by his fellow 21-year-old Alvaro Munoz.
The Dolphins did pull to within 14 points in the third quarter but ended the frame down 84-62.
Fuenlabrada outscored the hosts 35-17 in the fourth quarter.
The Spanish club won so comfortably that the team's Liga Endesa MVP for the Month of November, Gustavo Ayon, played less than six minutes.
The Dolphins fell to 1-3 with the setback.
Norrköping Dolphins head coach Paul Burke:
"Fuenlabrada really outmatched us today. They are a great team, which is very well coached. It’s been a pleasure to meet them – they are one of the top teams in the Spanish league, which in its turn is the best league outside the NBA. It has been a privilege to play against them."
Fuenlabrada head coach Portfirio Fisac:
"The great difference is not between our two teams – it is between the two national leagues, the Spanish and the Swedish. I am, of course, very satisfied with this win. Our stats from outside the three-point line are normally not this good."
Norrköping Dolphins player Fred Drains:
"Fuenlabrada gave us a tough lesson tonight. The Spanish guests outplayed us throughout the game – and in the second half they shot us dead."
Fuenlabrada player Kirk Penney:
"We got confident early in the game – and, as our coach said, we don’t normally shoot this good. So it was a very pleasant game in a very nice arena. My first time in Sweden, by the way!"
