GAME REPORT

Oldenburg Cruise At Norrköping

EWE Baskets Oldenburg stormed to their third successive victory in the EuroChallenge on Tuesday night with Norrköping Dolphins their latest victims.

Robert Brown led a balanced attack with 19 points as the German club claimed a 95-73 win in Sweden.

Trailing 26-24 midway through the second quarter, EWE Baskets got five straight points from Milan Majstorovic and stayed in front the rest of the way.

Majstorovic hit a three-ball and then made a lay-up before Sead Sehovic followed with a jumper to make it 31-26.

The spurt to put EWE Baskets in command started with 2:19 left in the second quarter.

Kenny Hasbrouck was fouled and made two free-throws before Brown hit a three.

They went on to score 11 consecutive points - seven by Brown - for a 45-30 lead.

The advantage ballooned to 21 points in the third quarter and they cruised to victory in the fourth.

EWE Baskets were a scintillating 13 of 25 from long range with Brown and Sehovic each making three.

The visitors also made 18 of their 21 free-throws.

The Dolphins dropped to 1-2.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes Norrköping Dolphins vs. EWE Baskets

Paul Burke, Dolphins coach:
"With such an excellent coach (and I already I knew that, I have played under him) and a team with totally committed players, the outcome was more or less expected. It was a fair game. I think we lost the game in the last 2,5 minutes of Q2 and the first 2,5 minutes of Q3. We didn’t manage to come back. The stats tell the true story – they really taught us how to play basket tonight."

Predrag Krunic, EWE Baskets coach:
"First of all, I want to congratulate my players. They made a very god job in this game. A game that was closer than the result tells you. Both teams played a very good game. We played much more aggressive in the second half of the game – and that is part of the reason why we won."

Milan Majstorovic, EWE Baskets player:
"The Dolphins have some very good players; and they played an unusual type of basketball which took us some time to figure out. When we started to play tough defence, they were forced to play our game."

Dee Ayuba, Dolphins player:
"It was their three-pointers that killed us. 52 per cent shooting or 13 of 25... we just couldn’t match that. Their defence totally spoiled our offensive play and on top of that they shot the ball really well. In Q4, they exploded and then, if not before, the game was all theirs."
