Fuenlabrada cruised to victory over visiting Norrköping Dolphins in EuroChallenge Group A on Tuesday.
Among the favorites to go deep in the competition, the Spanish outfit led by 25 points before coasting to an 89-75 triumph.
Kirk Penney had 15 points and 25-year-old Senegalese center Mouhamed Sene poured in 13 while hauling in a game-high 12 rebounds.
Gustavo Ayon and Leo Mainoldi also poured in 10 points apiece for the Madrid-based club.
The Dolphins, who are coached by Paul Burke, did have their moments.
An Andrew Mitchell three-pointer gave the Swedish outfit a 19-16 lead seven minutes into the contest.
Fuenlabrada answered with a 9-0 run.
The Dolphins didn't go away, though, with a Mikko Riipinen tying the encounter at 27-27 with 7:00 to play in the second quarter.
Veteran Lubos Barton replied with a shot from the arc and Mexico international Ayon followed with six straight points for a 36-27 Fuenlabrada lead.
By half-time, the advantage was 50-38 and Fuenlabrada remained on top by a double-digit margin the rest of the way.
Dolphins Head Coach Paul Burke:
"I'm happy for the game we played. Fuenlabrada is an excellent team. It is by far the best team we've played this season. We did a good job. I think we have our chances of winning at Fuenlabrada."
Dolphins Center Petras Blocka:
"I am very proud of my teammates. We fought all the time. For me it is an honor to play against a team with the class of Fuenlabrada. I had a wonderful feeling when the home crowd has recognized my work in the field."
Fuenlabrada Head Coach Porfirio Fisac:
"I'm happy for the victory. Our distribution of minutes was different from the Liga Endesa matches. It is important that our players can help the team regardless of the minutes they play. I think Oldenburg and us are the strongest teams in the group and that next Tuesday's match will be very important."
Fuenlabrada Point Guard Sergio Sánchez:
"We enjoyed the game. We came in handy into these minutes of competition against European teams. The EuroChallnge will give us many positive things. We have had enough inspired moments on defense."
