Wisla Can-Pack pulled away down the stretch to claim a comfortable 66-52 win over ZVVZ USK Prague in Game 1 of their EuroLeague Women Round 2 series.

The hosts finished on a 7-2 spurt as Prague turned to three-pointers in an attempt to close the gap and came up empty, missing five in a row.

Erin Phillips and Milka Bjelica had 15 points each for Wisla, while Ewelina Kobryn and Nicole Powell were just behind with 14 points, Kobryn adding 13 rebounds and Powell 10.

Wisla broke the game open early when a 15-2 run turned a 9-8 deficit into a 23-11 lead at the end of the first quarter as Powell sank a jump-shot.

The visitors tried to rally before half-time, scoring the last six points of the second quarter, all from the free-throw line, to make it 34-29 at the break before Frida Eldebrink's jump-shot cut the gap to three at the start of the third quarter.

But Paulina Pawlak responded with a three-pointer as Wisla began to pull clear again.

Eva Viteckova's jump-shot had the visitors within seven, 51-44, with 7:22 to go but Phillips and Kobryn both sank two free throws each before Kobryn's jump-shot extended the lead to 13.

Lindsey Whalen's jump-shot briefly had it back in single figures, 59-50, late in the game but it was Wisla who finished the strongest to take the win.

Whalen finished with 19 points for Prague.
