Cras Basket Taranto had to scrap but overcame a battling Frisco Sika Brno in the Czech Republic on Wednesday evening for their second win in this season's EuroLeague Women.
Kia Vaughn led the Taranto attack with 16 points as the Italian club prevailed, 66-59.
Brno led 39-35 four minutes into the second half to fill their fans' hopes of a first triumph of their European campaign.
But Vaughn hit a jump shot and then a lay-up to take her points haul to 14 and knot the contest at 39-39.
The two shots also sparked a 12-0 run that put Taranto in front to stay.
Fariya Abdi, Brno's sensational teenager, scored at the end of the third quarter to close the gap to 47-43, and the Swede then buried a shot at the start of the fourth.
Angela Gianolla replied for Taranto, though, as the visitors stayed on top.
Giorgia Sottana had a solid game for Taranto, scoring 13 points.
Elodie Godin also weighed in with 12.
For Brno, Ashley Robinson scored 15 points and both Abdi and Jasmine Thomas poured in 14.
