|Wisla Can-Pack point guard Erin Phillips led all scorers with 25 points|
Wisla Can-Pack Krakow pulled away from Sparta&K Moscow Region in the second half and won 81-60 on Wednesday night to take over sole possession of first place in EuroLeague Women Group C.
Jose Ignacio Hernandez's team led from start to finish and improved to 7-2 while dropping Sparta&K to 6-3.
Australian guard Erin Phillips finished with 25 points and Nicole Powell added 23 for Wisla, who restricted Sparta&K to 36.8% (21 of 57) shooting from the floor.
Wisla also forced Sparta&K to turn the ball over 17 times.
Powell had a game-high four steals.
She poured in 10 points in the opening frame as Wisla opened up a 23-16 lead.
Sparta&K threatened to reel Wisla back in at the beginning of the third quarter when twice reducing the arrears to four after jump shots by Becky Hammon and Candice Dupree.
But Wisla, being roared on by their home fans in Krakow, went back in front by 14 with 1:07 to go in the frame after Milka Bjelica split a pair of free-throws.
That made it 57-43.
After getting as close as nine points early in the fourth quarter, Sparta&K were blown out the rest of the way with Wisla holding the Russian giants to just 12 points in the period.
Hammon and Dupree each scored 14 points in defeat.
Irina Osipova had 10 points and nine rebounds for Sparta&K.
