|Ana Lelas and BLMA got another win with Lelas contributing a game-high 26 points|
Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration hammered Good Angels Kosice 83-65 in Group C of the EuroLeague Women on Wednesday evening.
The French club, in improving to 4-2 on the season, led 21-17 at the end of the first quarter and then lowered the boom in the second when they outscored the Slovakians, 27-13 for a 48-30 lead.
They cruised to victory in the second half.
Croatia international Ana Lela's 26 points were a game high for BLMA.
Shooting guard Gaelle Skrela also had a big game for the winners with 19 points while forward Stephany Skrba weighed in with 15 and eight rebounds.
Leading 23-19, BLMA got a three-ball from Skrela and a jumper from Skrba to go in front by nine.
The visitors were still within touch at 33-25 when Edwige Lawson scored five straight points to start an 11-0 run that Kosice never recovered from.
Good Angels were led by Lucia Kupcikova's 16 points.
They lost for the second time in a row and are now 3-3.
Good Angels head coach Stefan Svitek:
"With nearly 70% field goal percentage for BMLA, I've never seen anything like that in my career. Yes we were tired after a long, difficult journey here but that's no excuse, BLMA were the better team, they were very strong in one-on-one situations, and scored several shots right on the buzzer."
BLMA head coach Valery Demory:
"Kosice play a fast game but we played even faster! Our percentage was great, but we've even been scoring like that for the last few days in training."
BLMA captain Gaelle Skrela:
"We expected a hard match but we prepared very well for it. We could feel that Kosice were tired. We lost a few balls in the last quarter to enable them to reduce the deficit but we never felt in any danger and in the last 7 minutes we concentrated on gaining a maximum point difference."
