|Essence Carson and Rivas Ecopolis rolled to another win, this time at the expense of Wisla|
Rivas Ecopolis won for the fourth game in a row in the EuroLeague Women by blowing out Wisla Can-Pack Krakow 65-50 in Poland.
Essence Carson had 16 points and Asjha Jones poured in 14 while also grabbing 11 rebounds for Rivas, who lost their first two games in Group C but have looked unbeatable since.
Both sides are now 4-2.
The crucial run came late in the third quarter after a Nicole Powell three-ball for Wisla cut the Rivas lead to 42-40.
Jelena Dubljevic and Carson hit jumpers to close the frame for Rivas, and at the start of the fourth quarter, Dubljevic split a pair of free-throws before teammate Elisa Aguilar buried a jumper.
Dubljevic, who only signed for Rivas recently, added another jumper to take the lead to 51-40.
Wisla twice pulled to within five points in the fourth quarter but got no closer.
Powell had 20 points and seven rebounds in defeat.
Rivas Head Coach MIGUEL MARTINEZ:
"I am happy:) We played excellent on defence and our offensive players did what I expected. Every Player contributed to the success, I think it was a very good game."
Wisla Head Coach JOSE HERNANDEZ:
"Well we played not very bad defense but it is impossible to win with such a teriblle offensive game. In the third quarter we were only 2 points down but two stupid turnovers decided that Rivas got 6 point advantage. I think it was the moment that decided that we lost the game. Congratulations for the Madrid Team. I want to thank a lot to our fans who were excellent but we were not able to repay by winning - sorry."
Rivas Player ESSENCE CARSON:
"We played very good defense and in offense we were patient enough and every player was helping to get the win. I do hope that we will continue winning games in ELW that are in front of us.
Wisla shooting guard ANKE DE MONDT:
"We played a terrible game on offense. You can not win where there is no "team" on the floor but individuals."
