Quotes Galatasaray vs. VICI Aistes

13 October 2011
Vici Aistes Head Coach Mantas Sernius:
"First of all I congratulate the Galatasaray coach, good game. We know the team, we prepared but we didn't do what we want. We didn't stop Diana, she's a big star, good player, we let her score in every quarter. That was the biggest difference between the teams."

Vici Aistes center Amanda Kemezys:
"We were in the game for three quarters but we lost it at the end. We wanted to stop them but they're much better than us."

Galatasaray Medical Park point guard Isil Alben:
"They're a good team and also we got some problems so we couldn't play our best game. We wanted the game. I don't think it's important to score or who scored. We played together in defense and offense. Taurasi, Charles and Torrens, they are really great players. Tina just came in the morning and I don't think she played her best. Taurasi had big shots."

Galatasaray Medical Park Head Coach Ceyhun Yildizoglu:
"First of all I want to congratulate Vici Aistes. We respect them, they lost a lot of players from last season. We know them very well because they came early to Turkey. They're a good team with good players. Especially in the first half we gave so much offensive rebounds because we tried switching and defense, so there were a lot of position plays and mismatches that we couldn't box out and they got offensive rebounds. In the second half I think we played better. We are a new team, building chemistry. Today we won. Diana, of course everyone knows, is a great player not only in scoring, she can also play good defense, she's smart. Our point guard played good, she got 8 steals. Towards the end of the game we used Tina Charles inside, she scored and assisted."
