Ros Casares had a slow start in Hungary but then Ann Wauters and Eshaya Murphy took over. The Belgian star finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds

Ros Casares delivered a first-half knockout punch against Seat Unisze Györ on Thursday in Hungary.

New signings Ann Wauters and Eshaya Murphy had 27 of the Valencia club's 45 points in the first half and Ros rolled to an 80-63 victory.

Hosts Györ were on top 11-6 when the game turned dramatically.

Isabelle Yacoubou caught a pass from Murphy and drilled a jump shot before Murphy followed with one of her own.

Wauters then hit a lay-up and next trip down had a three-point play.

All of this came at the start of an 18-2 run that put the visitors in front for good.

Wauters had nine points, Murphy seven and Yacoubou six in the first quarter.

A basket by Quanitra Hollingsworth for Györ reduced the deficit to 26-22 with 7:21 to play in the half, only for Ros to take command by scoring nine unanswered points.

On top 45-28 at half-time, Natalia Hejkova's team put the first eight points on the board in the third quarter to take a 25-point stranglehold on the game.

There was no way back for Györ, who ended up falling by 17.

Murphy finished as the game's top scorer with 26 points after pouring in 13 in each half.

Wauters had 14 of her 19 points in the first half and also pulled down 11 rebounds.

Laia Palau, the Ros Casares captain, did a little bit of everything, finishing with nine points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals.

Iva Ciglar scored 15 points for Györ, who also got 14 from Rita Rasheed.

Hollingsworth added 10 points and eight rebounds, and USA Olympic hopeful Renee Montgomery nine points and three assists.

Silvia Dominguez, the national team point guard who joined Ros Casares from Perfumerias Avenida, did not play.
