|Magdalena Zietara once more stood out for Poland with 19 points against a sticky France defence|
Poland booked their semi-final place at the U20 European Championship Women in emphatic style with a 62-47 win over France.
Magdalena Zietara scored 19 points and Paulina Kuras added 10 for the Poles, who began to edge clear before half-time, and then used a huge third quarter to put away the French.
Kuras had hit a three-pointer and then a jump-shot early in the third quarter to give Poland some separation and they then reeled off 12 unanswered points, stretching into the final period, to make it 51-32 on Zietara's lay-up.
France rallyed, scoring the next seven as Clementine Samson nailed a three-pointer to make it 51-39, but they could get no closer as Poland found another gear once again.
The result sets up a semi-final between Poland and defending champions Russia, though Poland can take heart from having already beaten them in the tournament, 72-66 in the qualifying round.
Clementine Samson scored 19 points for France while Touty Gandega had 11 and Hhadydia Minte came up with eight points and 14 rebounds.
France, who have lost three in a row after starting the tournament 4-0, will now play fellow beaten quarter-finalists Great Britain in the classification round.
