|Alina Iagupova was one rebound and 2 assists shy of a triple double in Ukraine's rout of Germany|
Ukraine's star pairing Olesia Malashenko and Alina Iagupova came to the party to dominate Germany and give their team their first win of the U20 European Championship Women.
Malashenko poured in 24 points and grabbed five rebounds while Iagupova had 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists as Ukraine won 81-53 in this Group A clash in Novi Sad.
The win saw Ukraine bounce back in some style after an opening defeat to hosts Serbia, while putting more pressure on Germany as they suffered another heavy defeat.
Ukraine turned up the heat midway through the first quarter as they put together a 10-0 run to pull clear to 24-10.
Another 10-0 run, capped by back-to-back baskets from Olga Maznichenko made it 38-16 in the second quarter and, after they took a 51-31 advantage into the locker room at half-time, they continued to pile it on by outscoring Germany 19-6 in the third quarter.
Finja Schaake and Sonja Greinacher both scored 10 points for Germany but they were a rare bright spot on their boxscore.
Maznichenko finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Ukraine while Krystyna Matsko added 13 points.
