Spain coach Evaristo Perez believes his side can still improve as they head into the second round of the U16 European Championship for Women with a perfect 3-0 record.
Saturday's 70-37 victory over Hungary ensured that they will top Group C and although they failed to match the heights of their emphatic defeats of both Italy and Finland in Cagliari in previous days, it again underlined the Spanish threat in the competition.
"You always learn something from every game," said Perez. "To win by over 30 points flattered us a little today because Hungary gave us some problems. It was difficult but I think we were thinking about the second round a little. Now we've got the challenge of France, Turkey and the Netherlands but the key thing is to keep going."
The Hungarians caused their opponents more problems in the opening quarter than they had encountered before, daring to go in front briefly. However Spain produced a 12-2 run that catapulted them ahead and they asserted themselves in the paint to block any hopes of a fightback.
Ahead 36-22 at half-time, Spain - led by 17 points from Maria Arrojo - started the third quarter with a 14-0 burst that completely killed off the contest, leaving Hungary in their wake.
