Aldemir, Karsiyaka Too Strong For Leiden

A dazzling double-double display by teenager Furkan Aldemir was the highlight for Pinar Karsiyaka as they strolled into the next stage of EuroChallenge with another emphatic victory over Leiden Basketball.

They followed up their 22 point road win last week with a convincing 77-63 success on home soil as 19-year-old Aldemir thrilled the home fans with 11 points and 13 rebounds to underline his potential.

Equally as impressive was Osiris Eldridge who led all scorers with 20 points and he bagged four triples in a solid shooting night for the home team from outside.

Leiden were effectively playing for pride in this contest after their home-court blow out and they competed well in the first quarter, only trailing 16-15 heading into the second period.

They did find some form at the start of the second quarter with the first seven points but before they had a chance to really enjoy it, the home team were back on the front foot and finished the half strongly to lead 38-32 at the break.

When Alper Saruhan drained a score from the perimeter deep into the third quarter to make it 58-38, it was all over for the visitors - although they did rally to add a touch of respectability to the final score-line.
