Szolnoki Olaj dealt Keravnos a 75-52 defeat in the first leg of the Eurochallenge Qualifying Round on Wednesday in Hungary, practically booking a ticket to the regular season.
Obie Trotter led Szolnoki's team effort with 19 points and five assists. Marton Bader balanced his guard's performance with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the paint, while Veliko Budimir added 17 points and 9 boards of his own.
Keravnos' Anthony Johnson scored 13 points to go with 7 rebounds in the losing effort.
A Akos Horvath three-pointer gave Szolnoki an early 8-2 advantage, but Keravnos fought back and tied it at 10-10 on a jumper by Courtney Fells.
Athanasios Karydas nailed a three-pointer to pull Kervanos to within 17-15 entering the second.
Szolnoki managed to extend its lead to 38-31 at halftime thanks to a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Trotter.
Another triple from Trotter put Szolnoki ahead 47-34 with six to play in the third, and back-to-back buckets by Milan Csorvasi gave the home side a 60-43 lead entering the final quarter.
In the fourth, Szolnoki did not let up and extended its point differential so as to make the second leg in Cyprus on October 6 an almost impossible hill to climb for Keravnos.
