Germany Cannot Stop Serbia

Stefan Popovski-Turanjanin scored 14 points and Vasilje Micic added 11 points and nine assists as Serbia notched their second straight win in Group B of the U18 European Championship, beating Germany 70-54.

Bogdan Radosavljevic hit for 15 points and Dennis Schröder had 11 points in a losing effort for Germany, who dropped to 1-1.

Germany led early 10-7 but Serbia went on a 16-2 surge for a 23-12 lead and it was 23-14 after one quarter.

The Germans could only cut it to within eight points in the second frame but Serbia were a notch better in maintaining their distance and were ahead 39-26 at halftime.

Once again in the third quarter Serbia would not let Germany closer than eight points and led 52-39 going into the fourth quarter.

Serbia pushed the advantage to 64-45 and Germany would not get closer than 12 points.
