GAME REPORT

Oostende Still Unbeaten In Last 16

6. Caleb Green (BC Oostende)
Caleb Green was the leading scoreer for BC Oostende with 28 points

BC Oostende stayed red hot in the EuroChallenge with an 85-73 victory at BC Zadar on Tuesday.

The Belgian club improved to 3-0 in Last 16 Group L and dropped the Croatia hosts to 1-2.

Oostende had begun the Regular Season with two defeats in their first three games but have won five in a row in the competition since.

Caleb Green poured in 28 points and Darrel Mitchell added 23 along with seven assists.

Last week's leading man, William Thomas, weighed in with 15 points and eight rebounds.

The game was knotted at 20-20 at the end of the first quarter following two free-throws by Zadar's Brandon Brown.

He had 12 of his team-high 19 points in the opening frame.

Brown's first points of the game came at the start of the second quarter when he connected from behind the arc and then Mitchell raced in for a lay-up.

Oostende had the lead for good, though they didn't take command until they scored eight unanswered points for a 44-30 lead with 2:32 to go in the first half.

By the time Green hit another three-ball to take his points haul to 20 at the end of the third quarter, Oostende had a 67-50 stranglehold on proceedings.

Green finished four of six from long range and Oostende, who played without Matthew Lojeski, were eight of 19 as a team.

Jean-Marc Jaumin's team stayed comfortably ahead the rest of the way.

Zadar made just three of 17 from behind the arc.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes BC Zadar vs. BC Oostende

Jean-Marc Jaumin, head coach BC Oostende:
"This was very difficult game for us. We knew Zadar is very offensive team, so that the key of the game is going to be defense. It is difficult to play in Zadar. I was happy for 35 minutes of the game. The last 5 minutes it are a pitty because we lost good result. But, we did what we had to do."

Tihomir Bujan, head coach BC Zadar:
"Oostende is a very good team, so I am not surprised we lost. I was looking for some quality reaction from my players, but I didnt get it. Every time we did some mistake, we fell in the game, and I kept on trying to explain to my players that it is impossible to play without mistakes. The mistake made players nervous and they stop playing. That's a big problem, a matter of psychology. The young players were good, they played just a few minutes but their reaction was good, they were brave, and thats what I am looking at."
