Dexia Mons-Hainaut pulled away late in the fourth quarter to beat the Antwerp Giants 65-58 in their EuroChallenge Group K clash.
The scores were tied 53-53 with 4:27 to go, but a pair of free throws from Peter van Paassen started a 6-0 Dexia run that had them comfortably out in front with less than two minutes to go.
Timothy Black went to the line to cut the gap to four but after a Ronald Lewis turnover, Darnell Wilson could only split his free throws to make it 59-56 with 92 seconds left.
Quincy Taylor then gave Dexia breathing space with a jump-shot and, after Graham Brown came up empty with two free throws and Roel Moors missed a three for the Giants, Taylor added two more from the line.
Jean Mwema scored a jump-shot for Antwerp with 11 ticks left, but Taylor had the final say with two more free throws.
Taylor led Dexia with 16 points while Van Paassen had 10.
Black scored 19 for Antwerp, while Wilson had 12 and Salah Mejri collected 11 rebounds.
Dexia Mons Hainaut Head Coach Arik Shivek:
"This was a difficult game. Antwerp played very good in defense and had a big chance to win the game. In the second half details made the difference. Yes we have still a change for the Final 8 and that's nice."
Antwerp Giants Head Coach Eddy Casteels:
"In offense we missed in the second half a lot of chances. Yes, EuroChallenge is over for us. Problems with injuries hurt our team. That's no excuse, but a fact. We have to focus now on the Belgian Cup and the League"
