BC Oostende saw off Dexia Mons-Hainaut 75-67 to beat the Belgian club into the Last 16 of the EuroChallenge.
In a head-to-head battle for progression from Group H, Oostende came through in the final quarter to book their place.
With so much on the line and so much tension in the building, the game had been close throughout.
Dexia were ahead, 62-60, early in the fourth quarter, but Oostende came back at them with an 8-0 run, capped by Stephane Pelle's jump-shot, and they had a lead they would never relinquish.
Although Dexia twice cut the deficit to four points, they could get no closer.
Matthew Lojeski's dramatic dunk 1:47 from time put Oostende six points clear, and from there Dexia had to resort to fouls, with Dusan Katnic and Pelle scoring points from the line to keep the game out of reach.
Lojeski led Oostende with 22 points while Darrel Mitchell added 14 and Caleb Green 12.
Ronald Lewis had 15 points for Dexia while Quincy Taylor added 14.
BC Telenet Oostende player Stéphane PELLE :
"What a moment of joy. We've been fighting upstream, trying to define our selves, and I think this is a moment where we define ourselves as a team. We stepped up, we did what we had to do, we won and we beat a good team"
BC Telenet Oostende Head Coach Jean-Marc JAUMIN :
"We didn't have any choices tonight, we had to win. It was not a great game, I know but that's understandable, a lot of pressure on everybody. It was more the fear to loose this game that made us play so nervous. We're so happy to make it to next round."
Dexia Mons player Ben McCAULEY:
"First of all, I've never been so happy after a loss. Good game, great game but what it comes down to is that we were down 2 games at the beginning of this competition and that tonight we qualify. It shows a lot about us. We never quit."
Dexia Mons Head Coach Arik SHIVEK :
"I think that the game tonight was decided by Stéphane Pelle. He realy stepped up when we we're up by 2 and made the difference fotr wining or losing for Ostend or for us. 8 points in a row that hurt us. Both teams had to struggle for every pass, for every shot, for every reboun, but both teams win tonight. Great for Belgian basketball."
