Bryan Hopkins erupted for 24 points in the Last 16-clinching win for Antwerp

Antwerp Giants guaranteed themselves EuroChallenge Basketball in 2011 after beating Steaua-Turabo on Tuesday night.

Bryan Hopkins, who missed Antwerp's game against Dexia Mons-Hainaut at the weekend due to suspension, played and had 24 points as Antwerp won the Group F clash 78-65 over the team from Bucharest.

Antwerp improved to 3-2 with the win and because they have a better goal differential in the games with Steaua-Turabo (2-3), who won the first encounter by five in Romania, the Belgian club has assured itself second place with a game to spare.

Lokomotiv Kuban (4-1) wrapped up top spot in the group with a victory over Enterprise BC Dynamo earlier in the night.

Lokomotiv have a better goal differential in their meetings with Antwerp.

The decisive quarter of Tuesday's game in Belgium was the second, when Antwerp outscored Steaua-Turabo 24-12 for a 44-32 lead at the break.

Steaua-Turabo did continue to battle and closed to within eight points in the fourth quarter but didn't have enough to come back all the way.

Virgil Stanescu finished with 27 points and six rebounds for the visitors.

Darnell Wilson was a pivotal player for Antwerp, pouring in 18 points and coming up with six steals.
