GAME REPORT

Liege Rally To Stay Unbeaten

Belgacom Liege came from behind in the final five minutes to edge Norrkoping Dolphins 94-92 and stay perfect in EuroChallenge Group D.

The Dolphins enjoyed an 81-76 edge with 4:53 to go, but lay-ups from Leonard Matela and Cedric Bozeman slashed the gap to one before Matela's jump-shot put the visitors in front with 3:35 to go.

Matela then hit another jump-shot that made it 84-81, but Mikael Lindqvist immediately hit back with a three-pointer to tie it.

Matela's jump-shot gave Liege the edge, but Andrew Mitchell hit a three to put the hosts back in front, 87-86.

The teams traded baskets, with the Dolphins moving three points in front on Fred Drains' jump-shot with 46 seconds left.

Taylor Griffin went to the line and made a pair of free throws to get Liege back to within one, and then added a jump-shot that put them in front 93-92 with five ticks left.

Joakim Kjellborn had a chance to put the Dolphins back in front, but his jump-shot was off target, and Guy Muya sealed the win by adding a free throw with one second left.

Matela and Michael Jenkins led Liege with 18 points each, while Andrija Stipanovic added 16 and Griffin finished with 12.

Mitchell poured in 25 points for the Dolphins, while Kjellborn had 21, Conor Grace 14, Povilas Sakinis 12 and Lindqvist 10.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes Norrköping Dolphins vs. Belgacom Liege

Belgacom Liege Head Coach Dario Gjergia:
"I'd like to congratulate my team. We are a team with some problems especially in our own national league. But today we showed that we can compete against good teams. I really think that we deserved this win."

Belgacom Liege player Olivier Troisfontaines:
"It was a good game. We are happy that Jenkins scored with his last shots - that made us win the game."

Norrköping Dolphins Head Coach Kelly Grant:
"Belgacom Liege played an excellent game today. They shot the ball really good in the begining of the game and took control of the game. We came back and gave them a fight for the win. We must control the games when we are playing at home. We had the last shot and could have won the game - but we didn´t."

Norrköping Dolphins player Andrew Mitchell:
"Both teams played really good today. At the end it all was about positions and Belgacom did that better than we did - and they won the game."
