Rashad Anderson poured in 26 points to lead BK Ventspils to an 86-80 win over Maccaba Haifa and extend their lead at the top of EuroChallenge Group B.
Haifa rallied from 25 points down in the final period, but could not get close enough to challenge the visitors' lead.
Anderson's lay-up had given Ventspils a 73-48 lead with 8:30 to go, before Elishay Kadir's lay-up sparked an 18-3 Haifa run that closed the gap to 10, 76-66.
They continued to chip away, and Sylven Landesburg's three-point play with a minute to go made it 80-73.
But Haifa responded to hold off the charge and hang on for the win.
Arturs Strelnieks added 16 points for Ventspils, while Akselis Vairogs had 12 and Saulius Kuzminskas scored 10.
Larry O'Bannon led Haifa with 19 points while Landesburg added 17 and Kadir and Derrick Low had 10 each.
Maccabi Haifa Head Coach Elad Hasin:
"We can sum this up in two words, it seems like a type of a Roly Poly toy. This means that the hourglass is turned over when it reaches the end, and we begin playing only when we're 20 points behind instead of starting from 0:0. This is most definitely worrysome, but I want to take the last 15 minutes, because we could have easily broken down when we were 20 points behind, and after the last loss in the League and what happened on the game against Jerusalem I am looking at the last quarter and at whoever was on the court and that the guys really pushed and gave everything they got and this is what we should aspire for towards Sunday."
