Beretta-Famila Schio grinded out an important victory over visiting Nadezhda on Thursday night that gives the Italian side a chance to finish in the top two of EuroLeague Women Group D.
Italy international Laura Macchi led Schio with 17 points as they claimed a 74-66 triumph.
The result has lifted the winners to a 6-3 record - level with next week's opponents, Bourges.
Ros Casares sit atop the group with a 7-2 mark.
Nadezhda have been one of the hottest teams in the EuroLeague with three straight wins and they were threatening to spring an upset when trailing 61-59 with 6:58 to go after a lay-up by Liudmila Sapova.
Macchi replied with a three-ball and then Isabelle Yacoubou-Dehoui made a pair of free-throws for a 66-59 Schio advantage.
The hosts extended the lead to 11 before walking off the court with an eight-point success.
Tina Charles had a game-high 25 points and 12 rebounds for Nadezhda, who will finish fourth in Group D.
Nadezhda Head Coach Alexander Ermolinskiy:
"We expected a very hard match in Schio against a strong team. We paid for Veremeyenka absence in the perimeter. We missed too many shots. Now we wait for last match against Gorzow, we'll play at home, we need to win this game."
Nadezhda player Becky Hammon:
"I think Schio tonight had a great average in shot, probably we had to defend stronger, but it was not so easy against these great players. Now we'll play last match against Gorzow at home, we'll try to do our best"
Beretta Famila Head Coach Sandro Orlando:
"We work so hard to come in front of our supporters ready for this match. We knew it was very important for our ranking in this tournament. In Orenburg we lost the game at the last shot but tonight we conducted all match long. We had great defense, I think it was the key of this game. I have to say that Schio players put all their proud in this game."
Beretta Famila player Chiara Pastore:
"We came ready and we were loaded of energy: Orenburg is a great team and we tried to give everything for this match. We have done it, and now we expect last match against Bourges. I hope we could repeat this performance."
