There were scenes of jubilation in Gorzow as Great Britain star Johannah Leedham drilled a triple with 13 seconds left to complete an impressive second half fight back for the home favourites as they scraped past Nadezhda 76-73 in Group D of EuroLeague Women.
It was a pivotal game between two teams with one eye on sneaking into the knockout phase and consequently a truly vital victory for the Polish club who now sit with two wins and three losses at the halfway point of the Qualifying Round.
Belarus kingpin Yelena Leuchanka poured in 20 points for the hosts while Kalana Green played an important cameo with 14 points in just 16 minutes on court.
The home team had been behind for large chunks of the first half and as the teams headed for the locker room at the half, they were still behind.
However a strong start to the second half enabled the home team to draw level at 49-49 thanks to a score by Samantha Richards and inside the last 30seconds of the game, there was still no daylight between the teams.
That was until Leedham made her triple, although collective breaths were held when Elena Berseneva had the chance to force overtime.
Nadezhda were punished for too many turnovers and remain with just one win to their name.
Tina Charles collected another double-double, her fourth in five games.
