Prague Steamrolled By Sparta&K

Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje bounced back from last week's narrow defeat at Galatasaray by throttling ZVVZ USK Prague in the EuroLeague Women on Wednesday.

Following an 85-83 Group C setback in Istanbul, Pokey Chatman's team tore apart Prague, 85-54.

The Czech outfit had won the first encounter on November 10 to get their campaign on track after suffering defeats in the opening two weeks.

But with a chance to move into sole possession of second place, Lubor Blazek's Prague laid an egg.

Epiphanny Prince had 18 points to lead a balanced Sparta&K attack.

Prague trailed only 27-23 early in the second quarter when the hosts began to take control.

Lauren Jackson, who poured in all 14 of her points in the first half, scored seven of them in a 13-6 run at the end of the second quarter that gave Spartak a 37-27 lead.

Ilona Korstin then started the second half with two straight lay-ups and Sparta&K delivered the knockout punch.

With 4:28 to go following baskets from Jelena Milovanovic, Prince and Anete Jekabsone-Zogota (15 points), the home side had a 57-32 stranglehold on the contest.

Chatman's team cruised the rest of the way.

Irina Osipova contributed 14 points and seven boards for Sparta&K.

Prague played again without Evina Maltsi, who has missed several games because of injury.

Katerina Elhotova scored 15 points and Delisha Milton-Jones had 14 along with nine rebounds.
