Good Angels Kosice picked up their first EuroLeague Women victory of the season as a strong second half paved the way for a 76-57 home victory against USO Mondeville.
After a quiet game last week, all-star Candice Dupree was back on form for the home team with 21 points and ten rebounds, while Charde Houston finished with 19 points, four rebounds and as many assists.
Kristen Sharp led the visitors with 12 points and five boards, with Anne-Sophie Pagnier the only other USO Mondeville player in double figures with 11 points.
Good Angels Kosice started well, jumping into a 10-2 lead after Houston's trey, but Sharp sparked the comeback as she started and finished a 9-0 run to give USO Mondeville a one point lead.
Neither side were able to establish a clear lead, but it was Houston who sent her side into the first break with a 17-13 lead.
That lead quickly disintegrated as the visitors scored the first 13 points of the second period, capped by Lenae Williams' three-pointer only to see Kosice score the next nine points to tie the game at 26 with 4:47 of the half remaining.
Moisan broke the run to put the visitors back up by two, but Kosice still had one run left in the half as they reeled off 12 straight points capped by a fast-break from Lucia Kupcikova to send them into the locker room 38-28 ahead.
Bonnan cut that lead to eight with the opening score of the second half, but the home side didn't let up as Houston converted an alley-oop off Zuzana Zirková's assist to make it 46-34 after five minutes.
Bonnan took her tally to eight as she made it 48-41 going into the final two minutes of the period but Kupcikova capped a strong finish to the quarter as the home side took a 53-42 lead into the final break.
The fourth period belonged to the home side as Zirková opened with a trey and Anna Jurcenkova made it a 20 point game with seven minutes remaining.
Sharp took the deficit down to 17 with 3:44 on the clock, but that was as good as it got for the visitors as Kosice wrapped up the win.
Mondeville head coach Hervé Coudray :
"In the first half, we thought that we can compete with the home team, but after the break, this changed. We were unable to stop two players, Houston and Dupree."
Good Angels head coach Štefan Svitek:
"I am very pleased with the result, we won by 19 points, however it was a difficult match. Before our home crowd we felt responsibility, but our players handle it perfectly."
Good Angels player Ivana Jalčová:
"I tried to help the team and I believe that it happend. We had some bad moments, but I believe that we will only improve."
