Taranto 'Cras' Party At Wisla

Cras Basket Taranto wrapped up first place in EuroLeague Women Group A on Wednesday night with a heart-stopping triumph at Wisla Can-Pack Krakow.

France international Elodie Godin had 14 points - including a go-ahead jumper with 35 seconds remaining - to lift Taranto (7-1) to a 58-57 win.

Erin Phillips had a chance to put Wisla back in front after Godin's basket but missed.

Jose Ignacio Hernandez's side now have a fight on their hands to lock up second place as they are level with Good Angels Kosice at 5-3 with two games remaining.

After the next game at TTT Riga, Wisla will head south to Slovakia to face Good Angels in a contest that could decide which team finishes runner-up to Taranto.

Taranto had to dig deep to win this one.

With 5:30 to go, they were staring at a 53-46 deficit after a Phillips jump shot.

Baskets from Sara Giauro, Michelle Greco and Brooke Smith cut the home side's lead to 53-52 with 3:47 to go.

Australia international Phillips scored, taking her points haul to 18, but Greco replied with a jumper for Taranto and then passed to Godin, who struck to put her team in front at 56-55.

Dorota Gburczyk-Sikora gave Wisla their last advantage at 57-56 with 43 seconds to go.

Godin scored for the second straight trip down the floor and it proved to be the game-winner.
