Israel overpowered Serbia to begin their EuroBasket Women qualifying campaign with a 93-65 rout in Ramat Gan.
Lira Cohen had 26 points and Shay Doron added 20 as Israel romped to victory in their Group B clash.
An early 11-2 run, sparked by Doron's lay-up, broke the game open as Israel took a 26-13 lead.
They continue to score in bunches, and the advantage hit 20, 53-33, on Ekaterina Abramzon's lay-up early in the third period.
Serbia began to hold their own, but could do no better than that as the gap remained around the 20 mark and Israel were never worried.
However, Israel began to pull away again down the stretch, and Cohen put an exclaimation point on the win with a driving lay-up three seconds from time.
Dori added 14 points for Israel, while Katia Levitsky added 13.
Ivanka Matic had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead Serbia, while Ana Dabovic and Jelena Milovanovic had 10 points each
"I wanted to win this game, and i want to qualify for EuroBasket. The game ended as it did because we knew we should not take our foot off the gas. It is a huge win. There was a lot of fighting spirit in the team. Now I'm happy, but we need to start preparing for our next matches."
