Serbia shrugged off a second half wobble against Latvia at the U20 European Championship Men 2010 in Crikvenica to take the honours 70-57 - although the performance was far from slick.
Point guard Nemanja Nedovic led his team with his best score to date in the competition of sixteen points while center Dejan Musli missed out on a double-double by one rebound after recording 14 points.
After a slow start, Serbia dominated for long periods and powered their way to a 29-16 advantage and still led by double figures at 35-25 when the interval arrived.
Having stretched the deficit out to 16 points at 43-27 early in the third they fell asleep and allowed a determined Latvia to work their way back into the game.
Eight straight points without reply cut the gap and then early in the fourth, the powerful Lauris Blaus who finished with a game-high 19 points completed an ‘And-1' play to get Latvia to within four points at 53-49.
As hard as they tried, they failed to keep up the momentum and Serbia pulled away down the stretch.
Kristers Zeidaks had another big game for the Latvian team with 16 points and 9 rebounds (watch Kristers Zeidaks and Nemanja Nedovic postgame reaction here)
