GAME REPORT

Narrow Triumph For Amsterdam Against BC Dynamo

Amsterdam scraped a 64-63 win over Enterprise BC Dynamo in the Eurocup Qualifying Round on Tuesday in Holland.

The result has left all to play for when the teams meet again next week in Moscow.

The Russian side threatened to claim an impressive road win.

They led 30-25 late in the opening quarter but Alton Mason and Christopher Rodgers each made a pair of free-throws for the Dutch outfit as it cut the deficit to just one at half-time.

When play resumed in the third quarter, BC Dynamo went on an 11-1 run that was capped by a Sergey Monya lay-up to make it 41-30.

In a game of spurts, Amsterdam got the wind in their sails and reeled off 11 consecutive points to knot the contest.

Peter Mulligan had five points in that run for the home side, who ended up taking a 45-43 lead to the last quarter.

A Robert Krabbendam three-ball sparked a 10-2 surge at the start of the final quarter to put the Dutch into a 55-45 lead and it looked as if they might blow the game wide open.

But BC Dynamo had an answer.

They replied with a 9-0 run to make it 55-54 just 4:14 from the end.

The Russian team eventually went in front with two Iliya Syrovatko lay-ups making it 63-59.

Jessey Voorn had the final say for Amsterdam.

His three-ball and lay-up accounted for the last points of the contest.

Voorn and Rodgers had 17 points apiece for Amsterdam, with Krabbendam also pouring in 12 and grabbing eight rebounds.

Monya's 13 led a balanced attack for BC Dynamo.
