The Turkish side shared around 25 assists and were slick all over the floor with Charles Davis leading the way as he racked up a game high 22 points.
Neither team had been able to break the game open early with the hosts managing to sneak into a 24-19 lead only to be pegged back at 24-24 early in the second quarter.
At 40-38 and less than three minutes to go until half-time neither team looked like taking a big advantage into the second half. However Banvit had other ideas as back to back triples from Charles Davis and a big dunk by Keith Simmons extended the home lead to ten point at 48-38 heading into the locker rooms.
However Roanne started the second half strongly with a 9-2 run to get within a point of their opponent but towards the end of the third quarter they found themselves 73-63 behind.
A triple by David Noel to finish the period gave them renewed hope heading into the last ten minutes but it wasn't to be as Banvit cruised to victory with a strong fourth quarter.
Ralph Mims claimed 19 points for the visitors including four triples. Despite the loss, Roanne should still make the last eight even if they lose next week with tie-breaker advantages over both Banvit and Enisey Krasnoyarsk.
"We wanted to win this home game. to keep our chance for the next round, we had to win the game ending with a twenty four point difference. We played as we planned during the game. We also had the chance to catch the twenty four point advantage during the game. Though we won the game, we did not have that at the end of the game. Congratulations to all my players."
Banvit guard Baris Ermis:
"Our rival is truly a good team, but we played better. I believe that we played well and that we were able to make a tough defense against our rival. Even though we had a good victory on behalf of our team, we could not reach the score that we planned. Congratulations to everyone."
