Turkey's representatives in the EuroChallenge had a flying start to the competition on Tuesday night as Banvit thrashed visiting VEF Riga, 103-79.
Lance Williams poured in 19 points and Goran Cakic 17 for the home side, which opened up a 54-43 lead by half-time.
They went in front by as many as 18 points in the third quarter, only for the Latvian outfit to battle back and close the gap to 72-64.
In the fourth quarter, Banvit fans watched as the Riga club got even closer at 74-67 after a three-pointer from Arturs Stalbergs.
Erol Cinko replied with a three-ball to spark a 9-0 Banvit run and they pulled away for a decisive win.
Banvit were an impressive 13 of 27 from long range while VEF were nine of 24.
The hosts were also an impressive 22 of 27 at the free-throw line compared to eight of 15 for VEF.

Throughout the game, players from both game and the bench put extra perfomance for the game. We could easily implement the strategy that we planned before the game.
