GAME REPORT

Cedevita Fall After Chalon Late Show

Elan Chalon won for the second game in a row in the EuroChallenge on Wednesday after an impressive fourth-quarter at Cedevita Zagreb.

Jerome Tillman had 24 points and 12 rebounds for the French club, who trailed 68-67 after Damjan Rudez's three-pointer for Cedevita with 6:49 remaining in the game.

Chalon got back-to-back baskets from Blake Schilb to take a 71-68 lead.

After two free-throws from Canada international Jermaine Anderson reduced the arrears to one, Chalon scored seven straight points.

Maxime Zianveni made a jumper and Philippe Braud followed with a three-ball before Tillman scored to make it 78-70.

The Zagreb club refused to go away,  though, and pulled to within 85-83 after another Rudez three-ball with 31 seconds to go.

The visitors sank four free-throws the rest of the way and held on for a six-point win.

Anderson finished with 20 points for Cedevita.

COACH QUOTES

Chalon vs. Zagreb Quotes

Blake Schilb, Chalon:

"I think that we played well on offence and especially in defense during first half. During the second half Cedevita held us down and scored 29 points during third quarter, but we put our heads together, and did a great job during last quarter."

Damjan Rudež, Zagreb:

"We started the game badly and gave Chalon too many open shots. 25 points during first quarter in a home game is way too much. Even though we came pulled even during the second half and even took the lead, we lost this game due to few mistakes on offense."

Gregor Beugnot, Chalon Coach:

"This is a very important win for us since this is our first win away. My players played badly through the second half, but excellent controlled ball during the first half. During the third quarter we did a lousy job in defense."

Slobodan Subotić, Zagreb Coach:

"We lost this game in first half. We succeeded to get back in it later with pressure defense and smaller players, but that did not last long. The great loss for us was the injury of Andrija Žižić. His presence and inner play, especially."
