Frisco Sika Brno opened up a big first-half lead and then turned back a comeback attempt by Fenerbahce to win the EuroLeague Women Group D game on Tuesday.
Beaten last week at three-time defending champions Spartak Moscow Region, Brno thrived at home in front of their own supporters and led by as many as 19 points before prevailing 74-66.
Eva Viteckova scored 13 of her 19 points in the first 20 minutes.
She connected from long range for a 47-28 lead at the break - Brno's biggest advantage of the contest.
Fenerbahce scored the first five points of the second half and ended up closing the gap to 56-47 at the end of the third quarter after Nicole Powell's shot from behind the arc.
The visitors then pulled to within 60-54 with 7:17 to go after a three-pointer by Penny Taylor and a lay-up from Birsel Vardarli.
Jan Bobrovsky's squad held on, though, going back on top by 16 before winning by eight.
The Czech outfit dominated on the boards, out-rebounding Fenerbahce 48-36 with Taj Mc Williams corralling 11 rebounds for the winners, Hana Horakova 10 and Dewanna Bonner eight.
Bonner had 17 points and McWilliams 13.
Powell and Taylor each scored 16 points in defeat.
