Vaida Sipaviciute poured in 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as the Hungarian club prevailed in front of their own fans, 82-66.
Szeviép made certain of this victory in the first half, when they scored the first 14 points of the game.
Sipaviciute had six points and Emöke Füresz five in that opening spurt for the hosts.
The lead ballooned to 24-7 with 11 seconds to go in the first quarter after Sipaviciute split a pair of free-throws.
Victory was all but assured less than a minute into the second quarter after Sipaviciute made a lay-up to stretch the Szeviép advantage to 31-9.
With a minute to go in the half, a jumper by Edit Laczi made it 46-18 for Szeviép.
There was no way back for the visitors from France.
Laczi finished with 14 points and Füresz 12 while Frida Eldebrink poured in 21 points for Tarbes, who dropped to 1-5.
